Sweet McCall had a bit of a cold the day we took these, but she was a professional and gave us some wonderful images. Newborn photography is something that I am beginning to have more chances to do, I am enjoying the creativity and the difficulty that comes with working with such little and temperamental models. Each session brings new favorites and lessons, I hope you all enjoy this sweet family.
I started of the new year with the first wedding of the year, with a friend I have known for years. I am so happy for her and her new husband, they had such joy on their wedding day. It was a simple wedding with only four people, it was a new experience for me, but one that I really enjoyed. I was able to capture a lot of emotion from the couple, they couldn’t keep their eyes off of each other, I have never seen Ashley smile that big. The only down thing of the day was that it was only 25 degree is in Charlotte that day. Enjoy and congratulations Ashley and Brett!
I have been planning on working with this family for a long time, and it was worth the wait. They were so natural in front of the camera and had such creativity, it made my time enjoyable. This was the first time I was able to use chalkboard’s, but it will not be the last, I love how they look.
I had my first ever Halloween mini-session with this sweet family. Their costumes were adorable and fit the kids personalities great. I loved the idea of a Halloween Session because the kids are more willing to participate with costumes and everyone was so excited that it was easy to get natural smiles. I may have to make this a tradition.
Newborn photography can be very tricky, typically I need to set aside 3-4 hours to make sure that the baby will sleep at some time during the session. I am not complaining, because when they do cooperate it is magic, Lauren proved that at her session. She was a champ, slept through every set change, diapers being taken on and off, feedings and my lights beeping. I didn’t know that babies could be professional models, but Lauren showed me that they can be. I hope you enjoy this newborn photography session as much as I did!
